Fraser

Known affectionately as “The icebox of the nation”.

Welcome to Fraser

The Icebox of the Nation

Fraser is among the few places in the United States to have recorded a freeze on every calendar date.

The Fraser post office, operational since 1876, serves the town named after pioneer settler Reuben Frazer.

Incorporated in 1953, is located between the towns of Winter Park and Tabernash, just 75 miles west of Denver. Despite its close proximity to the Mile High City, visiting Fraser feels like "Leaving Planet Earth." With its enigmatic charm and unique personality, Fraser lives up to this tagline, captivating the imagination and offering a respite from daily life. Year-round, Fraser hosts numerous activities and events to make any stay unforgettable.

Fraser has been in a trademark dispute with International Falls, Minnesota, since 1956 over the slogan "Icebox of the Nation." After years of legal battles, the United States Patent and Trademark Office registered the trademark with International Falls on January 29, 2008.
